The
58th Annual Sylvan Beach Festival, sponsored by the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber
of Commerce, is scheduled for Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, 2014 with
gates opening at 5:00pm on Friday and at 9:00am on Saturday at historic Sylvan
Beach Park on lovely Galveston Bay.
Friday’s
activities will include live entertainment, food, carnival, and a cook-off
while on Saturday the festival kicks off with a parade beginning at 10:00am on
South Broadway at Fairmont Parkway and ending on West Main at 8th
Street. Activities at the park begin immediately following the parade with many
exciting things to enjoy throughout the day including live entertainment, food,
arts & crafts booths, a carnival, cook-off, pageants, and much more.
And,
always exciting for the crowd, both Junior Miss and Miss Sylvan Beach 2014 will
be crowned on the main stage between 6:30 and 7:30pm on Saturday.
Friday
night’s headline entertainers are Bart Crow and Stoney LaRue while Jason Cassidy and the Casey
Donahew Band will headline on Saturday night.
Admission
is $5 from 9:00am-5:00pm and $10 after 5:00pm, $2 for senior citizens, and free
for children 10 and under accompanied by an adult. For more information, call
